Mission Statement
To develop a fundamental understating of what it means to work in an Agile way.
To provide a grounding in key Agile methodologies and terminology
 
The Introduction to Agile course is a condensed, pragmatic, experience-based introduction into the history and practice of "Agile" which can be taken as standalone course and which also leads into three other industry standard XSCALE Agile Certification courses.

Objectives
On successful completion of this course participants will be able to:
  • Explain the meaning of "Agile" and what is (and isn't)
  • Describe some of the benefits of moving to a more agile way of thinking and acting
  • Understand how and why agile is ‘quicker, better and cheaper'
  • Know about the main agile frameworks and what they offer
  • Learn and experience how Scrum and Kanban help teams be more effective
  • Understand how and why Technical debt happens, why it is a problem and what to do about it
  • Be aware of BDD (behaviour driven design) and why it is important
  • Be aware of continuous integration/delivery/deployment and their role in maintaining sustainable throughput
 
Target audience
Introduction to Agile is aimed at anyone who is relatively new to the concepts and terminology of "Agile" and interested to understand why and how an Agile way of working can improve individual, team and organisational performance and satisfaction.
Introduction to Agile is also a prerequisite course for anyone wanting to enhance their knowledge of the principles and practices of Agile Organization and become certified in any of the three, industry standard, XSCALE Agile Certification courses.
