Course description
This course gives participants a complete overview of the Money Market business and the ways Money Market contracts are processed in the Avaloq Banking Suite. The course starts with an introduction to the main concepts of the Money Market business, its conventions, the involved roles and the products they trade. It then focuses on the specifics of processing Money Market deals within the Avaloq Banking Suite. The straight-through processing capabilities of the Money Market module are discussed as well as trades’ lifecycle events.
Course participants will be familiarized with the processing of the supported Money Market products, namely Call Deposits and Time Deposits. All relevant business use cases are handled step by step, starting with trade initiation, continuing through interest rate changes and renewals, up to early termination and automated redemption. The relevant specifics of each use case will be briefly covered.
Motivation:
Upon completion of this course, participants will have acquired knowledge of the Money Market module. They will also understand to what extent the module can be customized.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand supported business use cases
- Know how to create and modify Money Market deposits
- Understand the different renewal types
- Repeat how to manually set mark-ups, retrocession and instructed money accounts

Prerequisites
Participants must either
- have attended the course “Avaloq Foundation (FOU)” or
- have equivalent knowledge and experience with the Avaloq Banking Suite
