Avaloq Core Platform from a technical perspective. They will have awareness of and apply best practice methods. This course enables participants to become certified as Avaloq Technical Operator.
 
Course description
The aim of this course is to provide a substantial overview of best practices and tools to operate the Avaloq Banking Suite. Course participants will learn about typical use cases of Avaloq IT operations and the best practices for troubleshooting. After an introduction to the key elements of background processing, we will cover the Central Services Desk in detail. While we set up a typical job net and run end-of-day processing, we will use the Avaloq Monitor and Log to observe and troubleshoot the process. Alongside the scheduled processing of tasks, we will also cover the technical background and basic architecture, which includes file, mail and message handling. We will also use common APIs to connect to external system management tools. Participants will have the opportunity to solve various exercises. The course is based on tools, functions and APIs in the Avaloq Banking Suite, including Oracle SQL Developer
 
To become certified the participants need to pass a one hour exam at the end of the course.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will
  • be familiar with the relevant key elements in the Avaloq Banking Suite
  • know the typical tasks of end-of-period (EOP) processing
  • know how to create and schedule jobs with the Avaloq Banking Suite
  • know how to monitor the elements of the Avaloq Banking Suite
  • know how to analyse log entries
  • know how to use the various interfaces
  • be familiar with the possible areas of customization and configuration for operations
  • know how to use the tracing and profiling functions
  • understand the concept of Avaloq message processing
  • understand the concept of Avaloq mailing generation
  • know how to debug and troubleshoot the operational processes
Target audience
Members of IT operations departments, application managers and application operations managers responsible for operating the Avaloq Banking Suite
Prerequisites
  • Basic knowledge about databases and understanding simple PL/SQL statements
  • Completion of the Avaloq Foundation course (AFOU)
